UltraKit

So what is UltraKit?

Simply put, UltraKit are extremely large timber frame panels – with windows pre-fitted. Typically, one UltraKit panel is the length of an entire house elevation – up to 14 metres.

Not just a really big timber panel, our UltraKit is a whole system of building your next home or housing development. With huge time and cost savings what are you waiting for?

The UltraKit system is erected with the use of a crane – meaning little to no manual lifting and a much safer system of work. We let the crane do the hard work. A crane on site also has the benefit of being able to lift heavy materials (plasterboard, etc) inside the house as it is being closed up.

Why Use UltraKit?

Because one UltraKit panel can be the entire length of a house elevation it means less joints and junctions. It means less lifts with a crane when erecting which in turn means a house that can be erected very quickly… often wind and water-tight in one day.

The UltraKit system is erected with the use of a crane – meaning little to no manual lifting and a much safer system of work. We let the crane do the hard work. A crane on site also has the benefit of being able to lift heavy materials (plasterboard, etc) inside the house as it is being closed up.

In order to give UltraKit the strength and rigidity for lifting and transporting supersized panels we used a bigger gauge of timber compared to most other timber frame suppliers and we reinforce the header and base plates. This gives a much stronger superstructure, less prone to settlement issues during the defects period and over its lifetme.

Our UltraKit panels are 145x45mm C16 timbers – giving a larger cavity for greater insulation and thermal performance. However, we can accommodate any gauge and depth of timber to suit our client’s specification.

Concurrency – if you’re wind and watertight within a day or two your joiners, plumbers and electricians can get started internally straight away while the roof tiler and bricklayers can be starting to work on the external works. If you’ve thought ahead and loaded out the house with plasterboard as the UltraKit is being erected you can save days of labour at the start too.

Our Benefits

UltraKit isn’t just large timber panels – it’s a whole system designed to improve productivity and build quality.

Structure

Unlike modular houses, our UltraKit relies on standard structural design details meaning that mortgage lenders and structural warranty providers treat our advanced system as ‘standard’.

Safety

It is much safer than other timber frame systems – everything is lifted with a crane – no need for manual handling of heavy timber frames or stick building on site. ISO 9001 accreditation pending

Speed

The speed of getting to wind and water-tight stage is typically one day. We also get a head start on internal fit-out by utilising the crane to lift the bulk of insulation and plasterboard into the house before the roof goes on.

Rapid Response

We can have your order into production within 2 weeks of Engineering Sign-off. Typically delivery of panels is within 2-weeks of commencing manufacture!

Movement

Due to the rigidity of our 6” (145mm) stud frame and lifting panels up to 14 metres in length, there is considerably less settlement and movement at junctions.

Expertise

With our background in timber frame House Building and Residential Development, our UltraKit system has been designed around the construction site and to exploit the benefits of MMC by allowing more concurrent activity.
